Anders Lindegaard will go down in history as the last goalkeeper selected by Sir Alex Ferguson after starting the 5-5 draw with West Brom in the final game of the 2012/2013 campaign.
The Denmark international may have had to play second fiddle to David De Gea after the pair had been rotated initially but retains the burning desire to become No1 at Old Trafford.
A vocal stopper who commands his penalty area, Lindegaard rose to prominence after a string of top displays for Norwegian side Aalesund, whom he joined in 2009 (initially on loan) from Odense in Denmark.
After wrapping up a move to Manchester, he made his debut in the FA Cup win at Southampton in January, 2011, but a training ground injury the following season hampered his progress.
It was all to play for in 2012/2013 and he enjoyed a run of five successive matches, culminating in the 4-3 win at Reading. His best performances included the 2-1 win at Liverpool and Champions League tie at Galatasaray while his return from a spell on the sidelines coincided with a clean sheet against West Ham.
